An elephant (almost) never forgets

13 06 2011

I was admiring a friend of mine’s boyfriend’s T-shirt in the pub on Friday night. It was an elephant shape, but on closer inspection it had a couch, a couple of armchairs and a wall paper pattern inside the pink elephant shape. “It’s an elephant in a lounge”, I said beaming. He smiled and then said, “Um, no, it’s an elephant in the room”.

According to the world-wide web:

The “elephant in the room” is used to describe something that should be very obvious. (I would argue not THAT obvious)
“Seeing pink elephants” is a comical way to describe someone who is very drunk. (Surely 2 Corona’s doesn’t constitute VERY drunk?)
