Culinary Genius

22 03 2011

So I made my brother a cake for his birthday. My oven tends to cremate everything on one side, so I was immensely proud of producing an uncharred chocolate cake. I tested it in three different areas – pure perfection. My pride was tangible. Just before he arrived I popped in some candles. The ones around the outside looked great. I went to put one on the middle…. and the candle sunk straight through the center of the cake. Seems my perfect cake wasn’t cooked in the middle. I had produced a crater cake not a chocolate cake. We still ate it. The center with a spoon and the outside with a fork.
