Bananas

The two rotting bananas in our fruit bowl were reincarnated into a glorious batch of banana muffins last night. It occurred to me whilst licking the bowl that I would never ever contemplate snacking on a black-skinned, squishy, squidgy vrot* banana – yet peel them and mix them up with some sugar, fat and a raw egg, and you can’t pry the spoon off me. Such delicious double standards.

*vrot = south african for rotten and shouldn’t be eaten (0nly baked with)
