Perilous Puddles

16 02 2010

The journey to work in the rain is infinitely more stressful. The usual dangers apply. Walking into lamp posts when changing tracks on the ipod, getting stuck in the pavement in heels, tripping over nothing (when everyone is looking) and just crossing the road in front of London buses. In the rain, you have all this but in addition there are puddles the size of small lakes, just waiting to splash up and envelop you. I spent most of my walk to the station sliding against the wall trying to avoid being “that poor person you saw get soaked by a puddle” on the way to work.
