Coming in to land

My friends and I had a hilarious discussion a few weeks ago off the back of an article in the Metro about a pigeon that is quicker than broadband in South Africa (this can’t come as a shock to South African internet users!). We were trying to work out how exactly a carrier pigeon knows where to go and if they have some sort of built in sat nav? I mean they don’t appear to be the most intelligent of species do they? Well the London one’s don’t in any case! We decided that maybe they have a bit of help from London’s pigeon HQ…

I think the giant pigeon that has just taken up residence on London’s South Bank is a top contender for Trafalgar Square’s fourth Plinth.
